Three girls visit their favorite summer camp once again as counselors while trying to maneuver through their adolescent changes and keep their dark secrets from each other. Goldie Easton is going to be a camp counselor at Alpine Lake with her best friends, Ava, and Imogen, after having a really rough school year. The summer starts great but quickly twists into some trouble when they find one of the locals from Roxwood washed up on the shore of the summer camp. With the opportunity to meet with each other and talk the truth out between friends, they all hold something close and struggle to communicate, so is anyone really telling the truth to each other? A fantastic story of adolescents growing and learning from their mistakes as well as learning to communicate and talk with one another and trust others with their struggles and their wins. Also, a thriller with some unexpected twists and turns for a simple story. Narrated by Phoebe Strole, each character comes to life, and you can feel the emotion behind each character and what they are dealing with when they come across each difficult situation. For those who like simpler plots with twists and turns in their thriller and mystery stories that have the characters grow to trust one another.

The book that I had read for the club that I participated in was The Chaos Machine: The Inside Story of How Social Media Rewired Our Minds and Our World by Max Fisher. This book was something that felt like reading a history book of recent events. It was a long read and was a struggle to get through, though I was able to finish the book in time for the book club. It was also interesting as to how everyone interacted with each other. The conversation felt very productive since everyone felt familiar with each other since they had been meeting for a while, and I am very new to the group. My Reading Profile

For me, reading has always been something that I enjoyed. I have always loved traveling to other worlds and experiencing that world with the characters as they traveled their path. Although I have loved reading, I am someone who reads extremely slowly. I was also one of the students who had to do remedial reading programs through my school to catch up to my peers' reading levels, although that never stopped me from enjoying such. I have more recently been reading mostly in the form of audiobooks since they tend to be faster listening to the books than reading the physical pages, but I will always enjoy reading the physical pages as well. The favorites that I love to read involve fantasy and romance a lot. They are my go-to genre of choice, and experiencing life through those lenses has always made me so happy.
